Cape Florida Beach and Lighthouse is one of the oldest beaches in Miami. There is also one of the oldest lighthouses in America, built back in 1825. For more than 200 years, it has been a symbol of salvation for sailors in bad weather, it helps them avoid accidents at sea and to coordinate successfully. It is a significant part of Florida’s history. Since 1825, it has survived numerous hurricanes, military aggressions and explosions. This cultural landmark is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

There are 109 steps to the top of the lighthouse – there, with the help of binoculars, you can watch dolphins and whales in the distance. There is a small sand beach around the lighthouse.
Entrance is free.
The lighthouse is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
It is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
